 Kilimanjaro

Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,344') & Serengeti Safari

Tanzania - Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Highest Mountain in Africa
(Western Breach Route)

Tanzania - Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,344ft or 5,896m) lies in East Africa, just 3° south of the equator. Its massif has two main peak areas; we'll be climbing to Uhuru Peak on Kibo via Stella Point. Enjoying the sunrise view from Africa's highest point is among the most exhilarating sensations one could experience.

Our slow, steady ascent will be via one of the least traveled, most beautiful routes, The Western Breach, made famous from the Kili IMAX. We'll trek through five different climate zones: cultivation, lush montane forest, moorland, high alpine tundra and the summit. Challenging, beautiful and non technical! Determination and a smile - open to all!

With an extra day for acclimatization and exploration on the Shira Plateau, one of the most fascinating and scenic areas on Kilimanjaro, we'll be ready for our final push to the summit. From the summit of Kibo, you'll see Kili's Inner Crater and the dramatic ice cliffs of the Great Northern Glacier with its fluted pillars and buttresses as high as 100'. This is African high adventure at its best; we'll be camping in style with great food all the way to the top, making this a great trek for everyone.

Wildlife Safari: Manyara | Serengeti | Ngorongoro & the Maasai

After a day relaxing , we'll head out for 4/5 adventurous days on wildlife safari in Northern Tanzania, traveling in a very comfortable, roomy 4WD vehicle. The birds, mammals and plants in the lush forest of Lake Manyara National Park, on the Serengeti and in the 100-square mile Ngorongoro Crater are truly amazing. We'll spend time with local Maasai villagers and camp close to nature on the plains, the sounds of wildlife all around us. This safari offers some of the most celebrated animal viewing in the world, including cheetahs, leopards, lions, rhinos, zebras, elephants and giraffes. This is camping safari, we'll be setting up our own tents, sleeping outside in protected areas, and assisting with appetizers and hors de overs.

Bring some spending fun money, say $750-$1000, loads of film and you'll be set.
